vivo ("we," "us," or "our") is the manufacturer and provider of vivo products (including smartphones, earbuds, and other connected products) and the company responsible for processing data related to vivo products. To comply with transparency obligations under EU data law, this vivo Data Policy (this "Policy") covers the following:
1. Data: What data is generated by vivo products and related services? How is such data generated?
2. Storage: How is such data stored?
3. Use, sharing and transmission: How do we use, share or transmit your data?
4. Your rights: What rights and choices do you have regarding such data?

We have drafted and published the vivo Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Privacy Policy"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, disclose, transfer, or otherwise process your personal information in accordance with applicable laws regarding the protection of personal data, and also explains your rights in connection with how we use the personal information we collect from you when you use our products with their accessories, our applications, our operating system, our websites, and our other products or services. Therefore, in this Policy, we primarily provide details about data generated by vivo products and related services (referred to as "Data"). 1. Data
To provide you with our products or services, vivo products and related services generate various types of data. Depending on the products or services you use, this data may include the following categories:
(1) Device and system information:
Device identifiers (e.g., IMEI, serial number, eMMC ID, UFS ID, MAC address , GAID, GUID, Android ID, etc.), device manufacturer and model, country or region code, software version, operating system information, customization information, language and other settings, device hardware information (temperature, CPU information, screen configuration and parameters, etc.), device activation time, device usage, and other necessary information.
(2) Information about the application software:
For example, the list of installed applications, application identifiers, application names, application versions and status, application usage, etc.
(3) SIM card information:
For example, SIM card serial number, IMSI, phone number , mobile operator, etc.
(4) Account information:
For example, account registration information (including the phone number or email address used to register the account), account ID, username, profile photo, account login status, and login history.
(5) Network information:
For example, Internet Protocol (IP) address, cell ID of the area in which the device is located, network type, network connection status, etc.
(6) Sensor data:
For example, location, movement, environmental measurements, etc.
(7) Location data:
When you access certain location-based services (for example, when using navigation software or getting weather information for a specific location), those services may need to obtain the approximate or exact location of your device . This information may be obtained using GPS, Wi-Fi, or the service provider's network ID. You can refuse to share your device's location information by disabling or restricting access to location services or certain applications and features in the settings.
(8) Log data:
When you use products or related services, we may need to store information related to your use of certain features, applications, and websites. This may include data related to cookies and other local storage technologies, IP addresses, network request information, temporary message history, standard system logs, crash information, and log information generated when you use a service (e.g., registration, access, activity time, etc.).
(9) Other data generated during your use:
For example, when you use the phone function, call records are created. When you use the camera function, photos are generated. When you use the recording function, audio information is generated. When you use the note function to enter text, files are generated. When you use the face or fingerprint function to enter biometric data, corresponding face and fingerprint information is generated. The above data is generally processed only on your device and is not uploaded to our servers. You can decide how this data is managed and used.
Such data is typically generated continuously while you use products or relevant services. The estimated volume of data generated depends on usage patterns, but can range from several megabytes to several gigabytes per month. When you stop using the product/service or cancel the service, the product and relevant services will gradually stop generating data.
2. Storage
Such data is typically stored in standardized, machine-readable formats such as CSV, JSON, or proprietary application databases.
Data can be stored as follows:
- on the device (internal memory or SD card);
- on remote servers (cloud backup, app servers) if cloud features or remote services are enabled.
The retention period depends on device settings, app configurations, and user options. For example, call logs and messages may be retained until deleted by the user, while some data (e.g., temporary files) is automatically deleted after a specified period.
3. Use, disclosure and transmission
We may use data generated by vivo products and related services for the following purposes:
(1) Providing the products and services you require
We use this information to (i) provide, maintain, update, improve, protect, develop, analyze, and resolve unusual issues across our services, products, and content; (ii) communicate with you about your products, services, or questions and answers; (iii) identify risks and ensure the security of your service account and improve our data loss prevention and fraud prevention programs; (iv) assess software compatibility and deliver customized products or services.
(2) Conducting the necessary internal audits, data analyses and performance evaluations
We use aggregated user usage data to analyze service performance, compile reports, or conduct evaluations, such as customer satisfaction ratings, product usage statistics, and product sales statistics, to provide better products and services to our customers, and to optimize our resources and their management.
(3) Fulfillment of legal obligations
To comply with applicable laws or a lawful government request, such as maintaining transaction information and fulfilling tax or reporting obligations.
(4) Other legitimate purposes

Upon your request, we will confirm whether we store or process data generated by connected products and related services. Under certain circumstances, we may not comply with your request, for example, if we cannot verify your identity, if doing so conflicts with our legal obligations, if the data in question contains our trade secrets, if doing so would harm the interests or rights of others, or if doing so would involve disproportionate costs or effort. In any event, we will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and provide you with an explanation.
